Would you like to have a look at the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system? Simply named Windows 7, this OS is suitable for use on personal computers, business desktops, personal laptops, tablet PCs and even netbooks.
Released after the much-maligned and not-so-user-friendly Windows Vista, what Microsoft did was combine the good points of Vista and the good old Windows XP, while polishing other features as well to make the software more reliable and easy to use.
The result is a clean operating system with the following features included:

  • HomeGroup home networking system
  • Multi-touch support
  • New Taskbar
  • Redesigned Windows Shell
  • Windows Calendar
  • Windows Mail
  • Windows Movie Maker
  • Windows Photo Gallery

Good News for those Waiting for Windows 7 PCs

Now, if you are thinking about buying a new PC but you've been putting it off for the longest time as you wait for the Windows 7 operating system to ship – there's good news. Your wait is finally over! There is a manufacturer who plans to make Windows 7 PCs available to customers.
The people behind the software giant announced that they are actually enabling their authorized replicators to start shopping Windows 7 to Microsoft OEM authorized distributors. The move is set to begin on October 12, 2009. Smaller system builders can also start selling Windows 7 PCs as long as they get a hold of the product keys.
All in all, the new operating system Windows 7 will be generally available starting October 22, 2009. There's even a big-event launch to kick things off in New York City, as announced by the company CEO Steve Ballmer.
Prior to Microsoft's announcement, there were a few kinks that were still being worked on. Basically, system builders were complaining that the software giant relayed the release of the Windows 7 OEM pre-installation kits and they were not specifically given a date by which to expect them.
Representatives of the company supplied a couple of reasons for this. First, system builders are usually confined to having local operations so they have a less complex chain of supplies as compared to OEM's. Second, there’s no effective way for Microsoft to provide partners and maintain a general availability date at the same time.
Either way, the good news is that Windows 7 PCs will now be made available for those who have long been waiting for them. Whether you're an OEM, a small system builder or a plain general consumer who's heard the buzz about the new software and would like to try it out can definitely do so now.
There's no doubt that every move that Microsoft makes, especially when it comes to the new operating systems that they release, creates such a buzz in the tech world. In the case of Windows 7, positive feedbacks are already pouring in – so let's hope that the waiting is well worth it.
