Exciting Brand New & New Versions of Supplemental Software from Microsoft Unveiled
During the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference held last November 24, there are a few software variants which headlined the event. Aside from the main features which are the software themselves, the company also made some announcements regarding the improvements that they made regarding identity management, Surface Touch technology, interoperability and SharePoint.
First, here's a quick look at some of the new members of the Microsoft family:- Microsoft Silverlight
Microsoft Silverlight was first released in April of 2007, and it is a web application framework which ups the ante in the browsing experience of the online user. The latest version of the Microsoft Silverlight software is Silverlight 4.0, which has great new features like enabling hard copy reports, a full set of forms control with styleable components, localization enhancements and a lot more. - Windows Azure
The Microsoft SQL Azure is a Cloud-based relational database service built on the SQL server technologies. With this, you can build customized web applications, line-of-business applications and consolidate multiple data sources in the Cloud system. The company also delivered a Java SDK for Windows Azure storage. In it, there are additional tools which can be used to deploy the Tomcat application server. Moreover, Windows Azure can be used for "Infrastructure as a Service" applications along with the Windows Server Virtual Machine support. - Beta Releases of the Microsoft Office 2010
During the conference, Microsoft also unveiled the beta releases of Microsoft Office 2010 which is available for public download. One of the most notable features is the integration of social networking-related features in Office Outlook 2010. Here, users can already integrate their Microsoft Office system with Windows Live and SharePoint. - New Version of Microsoft's Duet SAP Integration Software
Next, there’s the release of the newer version of Microsoft's Duet SAP integration software. This is re-architected so that the Business Connectivity Services can be utilized. - Office SharePoint Server
It was also during the conference when it was unveiled that Microsoft has more than 4,000 SharePoint development partners, which is expected to double within the next release.
