Lead Business Analyst/Software Designer

TYPE OF POSITION

  • Lead Business Analyst/Software Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

If you're currently a Business Analyst, you're already familiar with many of the activities involved in this position: gathering and documenting requirements, writing functional specs and use cases, and managing the scope, budget, and client expectations for projects. But the key activity for our Business Analyst position is "solutions design". This means coming up with big ideas for how to solve our clients' problems. It means listening to what our clients say they want, and then going one step further to suggest alternative solutions that will meet those needs and more, efficiently and elegantly.

At OSD, we develop custom applications for our clients. The Business Analyst is the primary designer of those systems from the business standpoint. In other words, the Business Analyst is an "idea generator". You’ll work directly with our clients to understand their problem areas and recommend intuitive, creative solutions to those problems. You'll design software solutions to meet their needs and work with the technical architecture and programming team to develop those systems.

As the Lead Business Analyst, you'll also act as a sounding board for the rest of the Business Analysis team. You'll make sure their projects are on track for fulfilling the clients' goals appropriately. You'll help to create best practices to ensure that we're providing the highest-quality service to our clients.

You should be comfortable with the entire business-analysis process and should have at least three years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar position, with an emphasis on developing creative solutions. You should have experience in creating user-interface designs, analyzing and modeling user workflow, and incorporating that information into application design. A general knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of web-based application development is very helpful. A bachelor's degree is required.

OSD is a software development firm that has been growing rapidly for the past three years. You’ll be joining a team of extremely talented, hard-working, smart, and intuitive individuals in a collaborative environment. We offer growth opportunities, a fun work environment, and a competitive salary.
